Pair of Arktia series candlesticks designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1989 for the renowned Finnish glassworks Iittala (catalog number 2795). The candle holders have been hand-cast, with the melted glass trickled slowly into molds to achieve the translucent 'ice' effect with deliberate variations and bubbles. Suitable for dinner or taper candles. Specs per item: smaller holder height 9 cm x diameter 5 cm - larger height 9.5 cm x diameter 5 cm. Condition is consistent with age and normal use. The smallest candlestick has minimal signs of wear on the bottom where it meets the surface. The larger candlestick has the same minimal wear on its bottom, with in addition a small chip at the base and a tiny damaged spot at the top, as depicted in the photos. This has been considered in the price.
