Nicola Rozemeijer ( born 1955 in Amsterdam and works in Utrecht) attended the academy in Amersfoort ( 1st gr ) and the Royal academy in 's Hertogenbosch. Initially Rozemeijer makes monumental works of clay and afterwards objects and installations of wood, metal and cement. In addition, she has always drawn and painted and, as with her sculptures, she manages to evoke a special atmosphere. People, animals patterns or buildings, actually nothing special. The visual outer world influences her inner world and returns mixed up on the canvas. In recent years Nicola Rozemeijer has been particularly fascinated by spaces, buildings and reflections. Recognizable things but not an exact representation of reality. There is room for association and assigning meaning, each from his own memory or experience. Nicola Rozemeijer has exhibited in numerous places. She received a number of grants and her work is included in various private and corporate collections.
