Nancy Groenteman lives in Amsterdam. There she studied painting and graphics at the Rietveld Academy.
Her subject is the landscape: the hills of Italy or the varying surfaces and lines that ebb and flow on the wide beaches of Picardy are a source of inspiration.
Her most recent work also focuses on the Dutch landscape.
It is a representation of the stacking of surfaces that you see on a plowed field interrupted by ditches or of the alternating structures of the fields in the horticultural area around Sassenheim. Nancy opts for a limited color palette: different shades of one color reinforce each other in combination with graphic contrasts.
