SHANGHAI TIP
Moroso designed by Patricia Urquiola
2006
A seating system, Shanghai Tip for Moroso embodies the architecture of lightness for the interior. Its principal feature resides in its sophisticated yet comforting, understated luxury, with an elusive Oriental feel. The sofa is simple and minimal, in the standard position; supremely comfortable when the backrest is raised. Chrome-steel, black painted tube legs are reminiscent of the colored wooden sticks used for playing a of Mikado, the popular sticks' pick-up game. An intrinsic feature of the collection, comfort pervades the down-filled seat cushions upholstered in clean, neutral shades.
Stress-resistant polyurethane foam in various densities and polyester fiber padding on wooden frame. Back and armrests are made of injected flame-retardant polyurethane foam and polyester fiber padding over an internal steel frame. Backrest has a hinged headrest mechanism that allows raising or lowering. Feet are tubular steel with matte powder-coated finish; on polypropylene glides. Seat cushions are goose down over polyurethane foam. Back cushions and optional pillows are goose down. Shanghai Tip collection covers are removable
