Boujaad carpets are woven in the High Atlas, far away from modern influences, which gives these carpets a more rustic authenticity than their Beni Ouarain cousins. This is why Boujaad carpets are usually considered the most creative of all Moroccan carpets, both because of the very wide range of colors used and the complexity of their patterns. Thanks to their originality, these carpets made of 100 percent wool, woven on traditional looms, go very well with vintage furniture. The symbols on them all have a special meaning and act as a kind of dictionary of Berber culture, easily recognizable from one rug to another. They stem from the imagination and often even the life stories of the women who weave them, drawing on an ancestral craft and cultural tradition.
