Product description
A rare pair of chairs designed by the Dutch architect and interior designer who was an active part of 'Group &' - The group including designer architects Hein Stolle and Pierre Kleykamp were influenced by the leading modernist of the day. Eventually Den Boon was excluded from the group as his ideas and designs were felt to be too purist. His designs fit in seamlessly with the functionalist designs of mid-century modernist movement. Den Boon's dogmatic character and the austere tone of his articles resulted in too much controversy which led to Wim Den Boon being forced to resign from the magazine in 1950. These chairs retain their original leatherette upholstery which was common to Den Boon's furniture.
