Mireille Andelu known as ANDELU (born in 1937) French painter Oil on canvas, signed upper right. Work part of the "Tower of Babel" series Period 20th century Dimensions: H: 73; L: 60 cm After training in intaglio cutting with the painter H. Goetz, who introduced him to carborundum engraving of which he was the inventor, Andelu worked from 1968 to 1980 with the painter James Coignard and participated in the printing of his engravings. Drawing on her experience, in 1989 she took her artist name "Andelu", developed a mixed technique on canvas and paper and produced numerous carborundum engravings. Since his first exhibition in Paris in 1990, Andelu exhibits very regularly in many countries, whose distant cultures nourish his artistic creation such as the influence of Peru or China. Today, the artist lives and works in Vallauris, in the south of France.
