Product description
The Panton Chair is a classic in furniture history. Verner Panton designed the chair in 1959 and developed it to series maturity together with Vitra. However, finding the right material for the Panton Chair was an enormous challenge. The materials used were initially expensive and difficult to work with. Only after many years of research and a break in production from 1990 to 1999 was Panton's greatest goal achieved 30 years after the start of series production: a chair made of plastic as an inexpensive product. Shortly after Panton's death, Vitra presented the current version of the chair offered here.
Today, the name Vitra is regarded as the epitome of modern, first-class designer furniture. Since 1957, the Swiss company has been working with renowned designers and architects from all over the world, such as Charles & Ray Eames, George Nelson, Verner Panton and Frank Gehry. Their designs have made design history and can be found in the collections of major museums such as the MoMA in New York or the Center Pompidou in Paris.
Vitra is the license holder of many classics of design history, such as the Eames Lounge Chair or the Panton Chair, and this furniture is only produced by Vitra in compliance with the highest quality standards and design specifications. The following therefore applies to numerous world-famous design classics: The original comes from Vitra.
The Panton Chairs are in very good condition. However, vintage items may show some slight signs of use such as unobtrusive scratches and other signs of time.
