Product description
Armchair and footstool are included. Gian Franco Legler was a Swiss designer and interior architect. He moved to Chicago in 1953 and worked there for Jean Otis Reinecke Design Associates before setting up his own business in 1957. Gian Franco Legler designed furniture as part of interior design commissions, which were specially developed for these projects. In 1951, the architect Sandro Angelini needed a stackable chair for his Circolo restaurant in Ponte San Pietro in Bergamo. Working with local craftsmen, Legler designed the Basket Chair advertised here, with its perfectly shaped frame and rattan seat shell. In 1953, Legler received the Good Design Award for the Basket Chair.

Both the armchair and footstool are in very good condition. However, vintage items may show some slight signs of wear such as unobtrusive scratches and other signs of time.
