Product description
One of Fritz Hansen's most popular chair designs is the 3107, which is characterized by 7 layers of moulded veneer, slender - but stable - tubular steel legs and stackability. The characteristic 3107 was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955. The chair has a unique character thanks to the timeless yet versatile shape of the curved seat shell.
Fritz Hansen is a Danish furniture manufacturer that became famous for producing designs by Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegener and Børge Mogensen. Fritz Hansen produced the first steam-bent wooden chair in 1915.
Arne Jacobsen is regarded as one of the most important international architects and designers of the 20th century. His work is still one of the most important contributions to modernism today. Jacobsen trained as a stonemason and studied architecture. Many of his design projects are based on organic forms. From this, Jacobsen developed objects reminiscent of the formal language of abstract art, which were characterized by a concise and clear form.
The chairs are in very good condition. The signs of wear are clearly visible in the pictures. However, vintage items may show some slight signs of wear such as unobtrusive scratches and other signs of time.
