Product description
This is a Pipistrello Lamp, Model 620, designed by Gae Aulenti for Martinelli Luce in 1965. This example dates to the 1970s. It features an opal-white methacrylate shade, and the base and knob are white lacquered aluminum. The lamp offers a diffused light and is adjustable in height via its telescopic neck. "Pipistrello" translates to "bat" in Italian, which was the inspiration behind Aulenti's design. This is the larger version of this lamp.
This lamp measures approximately 53 cm in diameter and stands at a height of approximately 90 cm. The height can be adjusted from approximately 70 cm to 90 cm.
It has some rust on one side of of the base and a scatch on one side of the shasde, which can be seen in the photos. Despite these imperfections, it functions as it should.
