Marten Randa is the pseudonym of Bert Kiewiet.
The painter was born on July 18, 1942 in Winschoten and died in 2017.
He started drawing and painting at a young age.
Since 1990, the artist has been publicized through exhibitions in various galleries in the Netherlands and abroad.
From purely figurative, he developed into a style that can best be described as (lyrical) abstract.
Marten Randa's painting can be compared to arts such as poetry and music.
His colors are brought to the canvas like sounds, sometimes almost explosive, sometimes subdued.
Marten Randa showed us the ever-present feelings and vibrations that come from interpersonal relationships; the human energy in all its forms and colours.
With every brushstroke the invisible was made visible. The energy that drove Marten Randa to paint is also the energy that he perceived in others and which he eventually shaped. If the viewer recognizes any of these feelings, the goal was achieved.
