Michel Ducaroy devoted 26 years of his life to heading Ligne Roset's design department. The Marsala is one of his first models dating from the 60s and 70s, using the new materials of the time: shell-shaped structure in methacrylate or smoked altuglass. In velvet. In interior design, velvet is a noble material. It's a fabric with a wide range of colors. Velvet is very difficult to photograph.
