Product description
Wonderful work of the great master Luis Taberner y Montalvo (1844 - 1900). This is one of the last works of the Madrid artist who died just 4 years after painting it. Both for its quality and beauty and for the exceptional nature of the theme and material. This piece was created for an important restaurant in Madrid as a presentation of the Menu. Showing in the central right part a cook preparing a delicious stew, above a beautiful Menu typography, all delimited in a central T-shaped frame leaving the left margin to place the name of the dishes cooked on the day that they will have tasted since 1896 the most select clients in Madrid. The fragility of the porcelain adds importance to this work, just imagining the day-to-day life of a restaurant makes it seem incredible to have survived and that now after more than 120 years we can enjoy it and who knows, maybe... show it again delicious dishes on their menu. Condition: Normal (with signs of normal use) Signs of wear as shown in the images.
