Lucien Callé (1909-1988)
A pupil of André Gagey, Lucien Callé lived near Porrentruy, as he was administrative director at Peugeot in Montbéliard.
His friends included such great names in the art world as Messagier, Jouffroy and Chaboudey.
Every summer, he enjoyed coming to Erquy, his parents' native land, to paint the Brittany he loved so much.
The port of Erquy, Dahouët, Le Guildo, Dinan, Cap Fréhel and the Breton countryside were the painter's main sources of inspiration.
In 1933, he was awarded a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Français at the Grand Palais in Paris, enabling him to be listed in the Bénézit (a dictionary of listed artists).
