Lis Zwick was born in 1942 in Copenhagen, died in 2020. She was a Danish-Swedish artist. In 1959, she worked as an illustrator at the Harlang & Toksvig advertising agency, and then studied at the School of Graphic Arts in Copenhagen. From 1962 to 1963, she spent six months in the Drakabygget art collective in Örkelljunga, where she was tutored by artists Hardy Strid and Jørgen Nash. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus from 1964 to 1965, then ran an arts and crafts store in Horsens for two years, and returned to Drakabygget in 1968 after Jørgen Nash proposed to her. They married in 1969. Zwick has worked in many different techniques: graphics, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, glass, enamel. In enamel painting, she was able to combine play and dance with a free imagination and colorful heritage, which she received from the painters of Nordic expressionism. Lis Zwick also was a graphic designer and lectured at Gerlesborgsskolan in Tanum. Her works are in the collections of the Lund Sketch Museum and the Stockholm Museum of Modern Art.
