Lis Petersen was born in 1957 in Oslo, Norway.
She studied at and graduated from the Academia de Las Artes in Bergen.
In the early 1990s she moved to Tavira where she went to live and work with a grope of other artists . There she began exhibiting pieces and followed a process of making her pieces better and more beautiful.
She made huge sculptures from hormigon to oil on paper with an old tempera technique and finishing selected works on the canvas with a wax method.
