Product description
Leon Janssen (b. 1951) studied at the Stadsacademie in Maastricht from 1969 to 1974. Around 1980, Janssen begins making color woodcuts. For this he uses the risky elimination technique. This method (also called "kamikaze" or "Picasso" technique) consists of printing all the colors of a block one after the other, so that one does not know whether the print was successful until the last print (black). Janssen's work contributes to the woodcut becoming popular again. This beautiful woodcut is in excellent condition and has very nice colors. The edition number is 15/100 and is hand signed by the artist. Create your own wall mosaic (see last photo) and mix vintage artwork with posters, photographs and contemporary artists. This way you playfully put together your own inspiration wall in your living room or office. In our extensive collection there are not only contemporary artists but also many historical prints with which you can create a cool wall mosaic in no time. Check out our other items from Galerie Rotor at Whoppah or call us for advice. Would you like to have the work framed? We at Galerie Rotor in Gorinchem can do all types of framing for you. You can pick up the work at the gallery or have it sent by registered mail.
