Eindhoven 15 September 1932 - died. Maastricht 30 June 1997. Place of activity Maastricht, since 1956. Painter, manufacturer of gouaches and linocutter. Education Jan van Eyck Academy (Maastricht). Subjects: Portraits, figures, Stations of the Cross, etc. Kriens, together with Lei Molin and others, was the founder and initiator of the famous Limburg artists' movement 'Artishock', a group of Limburg artists who revolted against passivity (in the arts) in Maastricht. Pieter Scheen 1969-1970, vol. 1, p. 649 (as: Kriens, Leendert Nicolaas Jacobus ) Work in the National Collection (figures).
