Special and rare special edition lamp, designed by the illustrator Ronald Slabbers for the home accessories company 'Room Service'. The lamp was designed and released in an edition of ± 20 to 25 copies in 1992/93.
'Le Leg' has been nominated for the NL furniture awards and was designed by Ronald Slabbers based on the principle 'illustration goes design'.
The lamp is made using an ingenious and terribly expensive process. The leg is not folded brass but is made of parts that are hard welded together, the power supply also goes through the brass leg, without cabling. The base is expensive Belgian bluestone. The cap is Plexiglass (according to the background information about the manufacture by Ronald Slabbers).
The skirts were made in purple, red, green and blue at the time.
