Le Corbusier was one of the pioneers of modern architecture and is considered one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. The Swiss-French innovator also worked as an architectural theorist, urban planner, painter, draughtsman, sculptor and furniture designer. In 2016, 17 of his projects were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. These include his two houses in the Stuttgart Weißenhofsiedlung. LeCorbusier created the LC1 chair together with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret and the designer Charlotte Perriand. The design was first presented at the Salon d'Automme in 1929.
