Superb large beer mug or box, covered in dark varnished wood, antique craftsmanship, perhaps of German, Alsatian or Breton origin. Cylindrical shape, slightly flared base, handle and rim lightly decorated with simple motifs. Lid with large round knob. Varnished interior, with asperities on the bottom, cracked wood on the handle (original, varnished). I don't know whether it's for food or decorative purposes, but it seems to me to be completely watertight. 18-19cm max height with lid, 13cm height without. Approx. 10cm diameter max, 15cm width max with handle. Very good overall condition, with slight traces of use, notably patina varnish on the lid knob, small, discreet scratches, notably one on the lid, and patina. Approx. 700gr.
