The ceramicist Lluís Castaldo was declared Illustrious Son of Sóller during an extraordinary plenary session that brought together Solleric Town Hall on the great day of Sant Bartomeu, the festivities of the patron saint of the municipality. With this recognition, Sóller pays tribute to one of the most prominent visual artists of recent decades, who was a friend and pupil of the artist Joan Miró.
