Large multicolored glazed ceramic vase from Bay Keramik, West Germany, circa 1960s. This magnificent piece comes from Seefeld Decor's "Bay Topfermeister Kollection" (Master Potters Collection), which was produced between 1969 and 1973. It features a superb design on the body, adorned with floral decoration and modern, abstract shapes, glazed in a wide range of blue, green and yellow hues (see photos). The interior of the vase is a warm, chocolate-brown color, with hints of burnt umber, which contrasts very well with the other colors (see photos).Germany") and the model number ("86 45") are engraved in relief in the cyan/aquamarine blue base. There are also remnants of the original sticker on part of the upper collar section, just below the top (see photos). Overall, the piece is in very good, almost new condition, with very slight signs and marks of age and previous use consistent with the weather, as well as a patina of time, throughout the structure, inside and at the bottom, (as would be expected for a piece of this age), but also because it has been well cared for over the years (see photos). The vase is solid and sturdy. It has only been lightly dusted to respect the original patina of the smooth, glazed glaze. A true conversation piece, eye-catching, collectible, it will complement any Mid - Century space, rustic contemporary, modernist or otherwise, whether used as a centerpiece on a dining room table, coffee table or side table, as a floor vase, decoration on a large shelf, wall cabinet or sideboard, as an accent piece in an entrance hallway or foyer, etc. All photos were taken in natural light, indoors, so colors may vary depending on the light, angles and perspective from which they are viewed.
