Product description
A large and sculptural Art Deco vase made by Faience Thulin of Belgium, circa 1930. This beautiful vase is designed with a distinctive and angular Art Deco profile, accented with two supported handles and a glossy blue-green glaze with a dripping glaze of contrasting light gold and darker brown tones over it.
The vase is easy to see from any angle and is in good condition with only a few minor glaze blemishes that are normal with this type of pottery.
The magnificent vase has a height of approximately 19.5 cm and a diameter of 28 cm diameter (at its widest) and has on the bottom the model number 190 and and the mark: Made in/ Belgium / Faiencerie / Thulin (see last photo).
The Thulin Pottery was founded in 1887 and became the Société Anonyme des Faienceries de Thulin in 1923. Their products were sold throughout Belgium and in Paris before the company was dissolved in 1973.
