Klaas de Boer was educated at the art academy in Amsterdam. Much of his inspiration came from distant travels, where ancient civilizations and techniques contributed to his insights. The retrospective exhibition 'a life with clay' shows a development from tranquil Egyptian forms via Zen Buddhist raku techniques to figurative Japanese images.
