Original artwork on paper by Kees Salentijn, from the artist's own collection. Outside dimensions: 55 x 45 cm - cut out about 40 x 30 cm. In passe-partout behind glass. Kees Salentijn (Amsterdam, 1947) is educated at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, department of fine art. OB Kat is his main teacher there. Salentijn studies paintings in the Prado in Madrid during his study period and he stays with a Berber family in Morocco for several months. In the eighties Salentijn travels a lot to Spain. He combines the cheerful Cobra imagery with the influences of Spanish culture. In the early 1990s, he moves into a studio near the capital and begins his period of rapid creation. Cohesion, collage, drawing and painting as a continuous expression of his creativity.
