Kees Salentijn (1947)
A beautiful work of art for sale (screen print on paper, edition E/A) by the Dutch artist Kees Salentijn (1947). Nicely framed. Signed lower right. The dimensions with frame: 66 cm. x 52 cm. The image size is: 43 cm. x 32 cm. The condition of the artwork is very good. The frame is in perfect condition. Kees SALENTIJN (Amsterdam 1947), painter and draftsman.
Salentijn was educated at the Amsterdam State Academy of Visual Arts and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.
He lives and works in Haarlem. Salentine works have different periods. the so-called 'Spanish period', characterized by bullfights that represent Salentine emotional life - rendered in mixed media. In his 'black period', in the mid-1980s, the battle that Salentijn feels while making each painting is central. In 1986 Salentijn develops a painting that he himself calls Mediterraneanism. The visual language of this art, characterized by a dominance of the sun and colors, arises from music and nostalgic feelings. From 1990 the convergence of figuration and abstraction changes to a more expressive, narrative figuration.
