Sergio Asti (1926) is a highly influential Italian designer and (interior) architect. After graduating from the famous Politecnico in his native Milan, Asti started out his impressive career by the mid 1950s. Aside from creating numerous buildings and interiors for both corporate and private clients, Asti turned out to be a very prolific product designer as well. Having served prominent companies like, Cassina, Knoll, Poltronova, and Zanotta; Gabbianelli, Salviati and Venini; Arteluce, Artemide, Fontana Arte and Martinelli, Asti can be considered one of the leading designers of his generation.
The pendant on offer was designed in 1963 for the then emerging company Kartell. And like nearly all the Kartell products it’s made almost entirely out of plastic: in this case vacuum-formed methacrylate. This model has been executed in two versions: one completely in white opaque plastic. And the one on offer: a surprising combination of white and transparent gray.
As electrical requirements vary from country to country, we recommend that you always have lights checked and installed by a local professional.
