In very good condition. Renewed cord, on/off button and plug.

Christian Dell was born in Germany in 1893 in the small town of Offenbach am Main, near Frankfurt. After completing his studies and working as a silversmith in Dresden, he attended the "Großherzoglich-Sächsische Kunstgewerbeschule in Weimar. Now commonly known as the Saxon College of Arts and Crafts, where he met the Belgian architects Henry van de Velde and Victor Horta. Later considered one of the most important founders of Art Nouveau.
In 1926 he moved to Frankfurt, where he became director of the metal workshop of the art academy and also "master of forms." It was here that Christian began designing more lamps rather than forging silver. His breakthrough came when he began designing lamps for the lamp factory Gebr. Kaiser & Co in Neheim Hüsten. The table lamp model 6631 Luxus first appeared in 1936 and quickly grew to become the undisputed top model of the KAISER idell™ series. The term "idell" is a reference to the word "Idea" and his surname "Dell." The Kaiser Idell brand and lamp production are now owned by the Danish design company Fritz Hansen.
In 1948, after World War II, Christian Dell opened a jewelry store in Wiesbaden, where he manufactured mainly silverware until 1955. He died in Wiesbaden in 1974.
