Product description
Special work by Julia Munstermann from the Celestial Screens series. The work was purchased from Galerie Brandt at the De Pan art fair.
The Celestial Screens series is inspired by vistas of urban areas and the sight of the sky illuminated by city lights, especially at night when artificial light dissolves the boundaries between reality and idea. The painting process and its reduction provides few reference points, what remains are memories - a notion of the night and its vague, seductive aspect.
The light dynamics in the paintings, in the context of the exhibition of the same name, seem to be a kind of reference to the way light is treated in church paintings
