Product description
Light relief of paper on a blue wooden column in plexiglass. The wall object was made for the former city hall of the Municipality of Zaanstad in the Bannehof. This relief refers with hieroglyphs to the secretariat, housed in the room that sat behind the work. The last photo shows how the work hung in the town hall. It has a right angle facing inward, allowing it to be placed in a corner.
Judith Gor (b. 1950) uses light as an intangible artist's material. The Israeli-born artist was commissioned by the Municipality of Zaanstad to create a total of six columns. Here paper forms the intermediary in the play of light and shadow. The large surfaces of paper are rhythmically intersected, after which planes are unfolded. The columns only come to life when the lighting does its work.
Paperwork is in good condition, case reasonably good, remainder sticker at lower right and signs of use here and there.
It is stored in an air-conditioned warehouse.
