Large color etching/aquatint by German/French artist Johnny Friedländer (Pless 1912 - Paris 1992). The etching itself is large 57 x 77 cm, incl passe-partout and thick frame the whole has the dimensions 109 x 88 x 5 cm. The etching is hand signed in pencil at the bottom and E.A. notated. The etching on specially made paper seems to be glued to the frame only at the corners. The frame was put together separately for the occasion with corresponding shapes and colors as the etching. All in all, a very artful and tasteful piece. Johnny Friedländer is best known for his very laborious colorful etchings. The artist has had exhibitions all over the world and is included in several museum collections in Germany and France, among others.
