Jean-Michel Péricat (piCrate) is a contemporary French artist, sculptor, printmaker and photographer. piCrate's choice of colours, materials and supports, as well as his way of working and assembling, characterise a style he likes to call "dirty and rough", but which can also be called genuine and unsophisticated. Through his works, he shares his emotions, his questions and invites us to enter his sometimes surreal universe, populated by strange creatures and permeated with a special aesthetic and graphic research. His sculptures are often assemblies of various reclaimed materials such as metals, wood, driftwood, fibres, old newspapers.
