Under the influence of Delvaux, known for his surrealistic works and dreamlike depictions, Planque learned to explore the depths of the imaginary while integrating elements of reality. This formative experience had a significant impact on his approach to painting. Planque cultivated a particular sensitivity to light and color, characteristic of Delvaux's style, while developing his own artistic voice. He blends figurative and abstract elements, creating compositions that evoke powerful emotions and introspective reflections. As an artist, Jean-Marie Planque is recognized not only for his technical talent, but also for his ability to evoke poetic atmospheres, sometimes recalling the dreamlike landscapes dear to his mentor. His career as a pupil of Paul Delvaux undoubtedly shaped his artistic vision and contributed to his recognition in the contemporary art world. Today, Planque continues to honor his master's legacy while breathing new life into his own work, reflecting the evolution of Belgian art.
