Product description
Surreal sculptures in wrought iron. Water and fire together provided the DNA of life.
The unique figures were created between hammer, fire and anvil. Forging is a form of modeling. The materials and technique used by the artist become completely absorbed in the result. All of the sculptures have a high caressability factor, but are so layered that the viewer is almost immediately searching for the message and the relationship the viewer has with it.... The sculpture received a coating that gives the object a beautiful sheen and black-brown color and accentuates the hammer marks. The work can stand outside. Unique signed work from 2020. JLB received musical training at the Conservatory of Ghent after which he developed a career as a horn player, conductor, composer and teacher. At the same time, his interest as a self-taught musician went to artisanal forging, first to restore or manufacture all kinds of ironwork in the old way. Later he discovered the possibilities of creating sculptures. After a meeting and short internship with Martin Granel, he discovered the combination of glass with iron. JLB exhibits regularly at the Garemyn Hall in Bruges. His work was also exhibited at the Vlask gallery in Ghent. Dimensions : Heights 230 - 235 - 240 cm Widths at the base 65 x 65 cm, round base 50 cm
