Product description
Jean-Luc Bertel - Surrealist sculptures in wrought iron
Towers is part of artist JLB's Urban Jungle series and was created between fire, hammer and anvil. Inspiration for the series is the global proliferation of residential towers in major cities.
Forging is a form of sculpting.
The materials and technique used by the artist merge completely with the result.
All of the sculptures have a high cuddliness factor, but are so layered that the viewer almost immediately starts looking for the message and the relationship the viewer has with it....
Unique signed work from 2024.
JLB received musical training at the Ghent Conservatory of Music after which he pursued a career as a horn player, conductor, composer and teacher. At the same time, his interest as a self-taught musician went to artisanal forging, first to restore or manufacture all kinds of ironwork in the old way. Later he discovered the possibilities of creating scultpures. After meeting and brief apprenticeship with Martin Granel, he discovered the combination of glass with iron.
