Product description
Beautiful hardcover edition of this retrospective work by the designer of (precious) metals Johannes Wigbold Eisenloeffel. He was one of the first designers to strive for a well-thought-out design that was appropriate for his time, in which he worked on designs for serial products and jewelry as well as unique pieces. His designs are notable for their strict and simple shapes that do not disguise the construction. Decorations, usually enameled ornaments, only serve to accentuate these shapes.
His work already received much admiration at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris and he received several medals for his designs at other important exhibitions. Until the Second World War he participated in almost all important (inter)national arts and crafts exhibitions, where he continued to win prizes.
Nowadays, almost all major museums at home and abroad have objects by him, which often serve as examples for many designers.
