Biography and work of : Jacques Coquillay
Jacques Coquillay was born on June 3, 1935 in Châteauroux, France. Coquillay was a student at the Beaux-Arts and the School of Fine Arts in Paris under Marcel Gimond. He is known for his sculptures and pastels. Coquillay won the French Artists' Gold Medal for sculpture in 1972 and the Painter's Jury honors Gold Medal for painting in 1980.
In 1992 his works were exhibited at the Salon d'Automne. His pastels are present in many collections in France and other countries. Jacques Coquillay was appointed official painter of the Navy in March 1995.
