Unique Kanbier painting
Jacob Kanbier (Leiden, November 15, 1949 - Amstelveen, January 4, 2020) was a Dutch painter. ......
After secondary education (MAVO - VWO), Jacob Kanbier had a short stay at the art academy in Amsterdam in 1985. "Art education" could not inspire him. Jacob Kanbier has largely mastered the various techniques himself.
Jacob Kanbier 's "great examples" are Willem de Kooning and Jean-Michel Basquiat. From this he indicates that his "preference" goes to his "rough" work, which Jacob Kanbier creates, as it were, in an explosion with hands and brush.
As early as 1987, Jacob Kanbier had a solo exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden. That year he also performed in an action-painting show at Boulevard of Broken Dreams in Amsterdam, together with Herman Brood, Jules Deelder and Simon Vinkenoog.
In 1989, Jacob Kanbier presented the "Manifesto Neosymbolism" in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Jacob Kanbier 's paintings are increasingly attracting international interest and can increasingly be found in many important art collections, something that is clearly reflected in the price development.
Paintings by painter and visual artist Jacob Kanbier are in the collection of HM Princess Juliana, HRH Prince Willem-Alexander, HRH Princess Maxima, the Senate Building at the Binnenhof in The Hague, the Stedelijk Museum de Lakenhal in Leiden, Wim Kok , Hedy d'Ancona, Rob Kamphues, Felix Rottenberg eva
