Product description
"Red house and white birch" by Ivan Tzonev
Born in Gabrovo (Bulgaria) in 1957, Ivan Tzonev has been active in the art world for many years. After completing his art studies, he began a career as a textile painter, before turning to teaching. He also worked as a decorator, before deciding to leave Bulgaria and move to Paris. He then devoted himself fully to painting. Gabrovo, his hometown, was his home base, where he began his career as a painter in an environment that was both rocky and manufactured. After completing his training, he experimented with silk-screen printing on textiles, then taught art to children. From this period (1984-1997), he took part in national exhibitions (varna, burgas, sofia, dobritch, haskovo, etc.) as well as international symposia organized by the Bulgarian Artists' Congress, which took him to Germany and the Czech Republic. The House of Humor in Gabrovo, which organizes international biennials and exhibits artists selected by an international jury, also exhibited his paintings from 1985 to 1996. After a brief spell in Turkey, he moved to France in 1998, settling near Grenoble. His paintings are exhibited in fontanil cornillon (moulin des acacias), st joseph de rivière, salagnon, moirans (espace miro), corenc (château de la Condamine). Since 2003, Ivan Tzonev has exhibited in Paris and Lyon. Strasbourg and Dijon have been added to this list.
