Floor lamp / table lamp / pendant lamp / light object designed by Isao Hosoe in 1975 for Italian Valenti Milano. Model: Tama. Period: 1970s/80s. The lamp has a white semi-transparent plastic globe and cream colored screw top handle / fixture. The handle allows the lamp to also be used as a wall or ceiling lamp. In addition, the lamp is specially designed for indoor and outdoor use (see photo 4). The lamp is in good, original and working condition with light, minimal signs of use. E27 fitting. Marked on handle: TAMA, design: Isao Hosoe, Valenti, Made in Italy. Dimensions: height 43 cm, diameter 35 cm. Valenti was founded in 1929 in Milan as a metalworking company. Under the leadership of brothers Diego and Renzo Phigi, it grew into one of the most important companies of the Italian design movement. Isao Hosoe (Tokyo 1942 - Milan 2015) was a Japanese engineer and designer. He studied at Tokyo's Nihon University and lived in Milan since 1967. There he worked with architect Alberto Rosselli of Studio Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli P.F.R. (Gio Ponti & Antonio Fornaroli) until 1974. In 1985, he founded his own studio, Isao Hosoe Design. He was a lecturer at several Design Academies. Until his death he was Professor of Industrial Design at the Politecnico of Milan, at the University of Siena and at the University of Rome La Sapienza. Some of his well-known designs that he also won Design awards with are the "Heron" office lamp and "Hebi" table lamp.
Lamp is in good, original and working condition with light, minimal signs of use. Light, non disturbing discoloration to handle/fixture.
