Beautiful trunk or chest, wood interior, bamboo or rattan woven exterior, carved wood edges, brass handles and closure, closure chased with stylized floral motifs. Manufactured in the 60's or earlier, the motifs suggest Indian origins. Antique dark varnished wood look, ornamented with carved floral motifs, braiding revealing a geometric pattern in shades of light and darker wood. Attractive chased brass closure on the front (closure rod missing), each end features a fine gilded brass handle. Set on 4 wooden feet. Hand-crafted. Rough wood interior clean but left in its original state, exterior cleaned and fed. Nice dimensions 56cm length, 29cm width, 30cm max height approx., domed lid. Very good overall condition, with a few traces of age, small defects in the weave and wear to the wood. Between 2 and 3kg.
