Product description
Delicate French fer forgé (wrought iron) art deco lamp by Hettier & Vincent from the 1930's. It comes with a beautiful rose white frosted glass Maynadier tulip shade, richly decorated with flowers and geometric figures in relief. The shade is subtly signed P. Maynadier. A piece of mat adhesive tape was used to make it more visible on the picture. The wrought iron foot, produced by the Trichard company in Marseille, is extremely refined. This foot can be found in the Hettier & Vincent catalogues under various glassware models: under reference 6027 in a catalogue from the early 1930s, for example, where it is used as a mount for a Gallé lampshade. The lamp is rewired with black cloth twisted cord and an elegant cord switch and holds an original B22 bajonet socket. Dimensions: Height 36 cm 14.2 " Width 11.5 cm 4,5 " It's in a great vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age. MAYNADIER Pierre Maynadier was a manafacturer of high quality art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien) near Bastille. In the 20s Maynadier mainly used shades by Muller Frères for his bronze and wrought iron fixtures. The shades that are signed P.Maynadier were produced exclusively for Maynadier by Muller Frères in Luneville. Maynadier made the bronze and wrought-iron fixtures that Muller Frères used for their lighting in their own Muller Frères shops in Brussels, Berlin and Paris. In the late 30s they started to make lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war his son and grandson continued the business. The firm finaly closed its doors in 1966. HETTIER & VINCENT Hettier & Vincent was a well-known French lighting company. With a high quality finish of their lamp fixtures their chandeliers are now much sought after items. They produced lamps for the top end of the market and had a shop at the prestigeous and beautiful Place de Vosges in Paris - the groundfloor of number 7.
