Hereke carpets originate from the Turkish town of the same name near Istanbul. Since the mid-19th century, the coastal town has been known for its production of sumptuous carpets made of premium wool and luxurious silk. The Turkish double-knot technique gives both Hereke silk carpets and sheep's wool models a unique structure that is at once fine and robust. Once bought for €4300 and always neatly maintained. Beautiful colors.
