Lives and works in The Hague
The artist Hans Klaui mainly makes screen prints. These works show a technical virtuosity and vaguely recall Escher's work. The depiction of infinite spaces with floating, often geometric shapes is reminiscent of another world, a world from a science fiction book. Klaui mainly works in subdued colours; light blue, grey, moss green and white with an earth or ocher tone here and there. The floating figures seem to emerge from the dark background or to float away from us. Various works clearly show the globe with the floating celestial bodies around it.
