This is an exquisite classic H 269 model of art deco armchair designed by Jindrich Halabala in the 1930s in former Czechoslovakia, and manufactured by UP Zavody in their affiliated factories across Czechoslovakia until the end of 1950s. Halabala was inspired by the Greek letter Alpha in designing the H269 armrests, each made from one solid piece of bent beechwood by a specific method of bending. The Alpha shape of armrests bent in one piece of wood makes the armchair unique, iconic, recognised and valuable until nowadays. Rare and so ascending in value over time, this is a good antique investment while adding a beauty of the solitaire chair into your interior.
This armchair is completely restored, in a new condition in luxury standard.
The renovation was made with careful attention to detail and respect for the original manufacture seating composition and design of H269 model:
The restoration was processed with the original method, including African grass, horsehair and restoration of the original springs in the seat as documented in the pictures-sent on request,please,ask for details. The armchair also boasts luxurious upholstery fabric by ROMO in teal colour with beautiful gentle pattern respecting and enhancing the armchair's spirit; and high-gloss shellac polish with hand-made finish applied in walnut colour on the armrests which is a final add-on detail to its value.
This H269 model was manufactured by UP Zavody in one of its factories in Slovakia in 1950s in the original H269 desing by J. Halabala.
Although the armchair did not persevere its original label, as it is antigue, the original recognised design of H269 in all its design documents its origin and value. We also offer a certificate of renovation from the art renovation atelier with the armchair purchase on request. A unique opportunity for you to add a real antique timeless design gem to your home.
