Beautiful vintage teak wood model 118 armchairs.
The armchair was designed by Danish designer Grete Jalk and produced by France and Son. The frame is solid teak and has very nice details like the armrest or the beautiful curved back. The armchair has new cushions also the inner foam is new so the seating comfort is perfect. The combination of the wood and the color of the fabric is beautiful.
Grete Jalk.
Recognized as an important Danish modernist designer - working at a time when women were a rarity in the design world - Grete Juel Jalk was born in Copenhagen in 1920. She trained as a furniture maker at the Design School for Women in Copenhagen between 1940 and 1942; she completed her training at the Danish Royal Academy under the highly influential designer Kaare Klint. In 1946 she won first prize at the annual Cabinetmakers' Guild Competition; five years later she received high praise for her designs, which were exhibited at the Milan Triennial in 1951.
