This Collar bookcase was designed by Oki Sato, the designer behind the Japanese design studio Nendo, one of the very largest and most innovative design studios of the past 2 decades.
The cabinet has only been used for a trade show and photography, so in good condition.
Normal price EUR 1395 each, now EUR 1095.
Dimensions: 160 cm high, 40 cm wide and 32 cm deep
Color: basalt gray RAL 7012
The shape of the 'edges' are inspired by traditional Japanese shirts, hence the name 'Collar'.
Material: laser-cut sheet steel with a powder-coated finish.
Text from a press release about the Collar cabinet program: The modular COLLAR cabinets are inspired by the collar of a shirt, which playfully echoes in the decorative aluminum fronts. These MDF / metal containers function as individual chest of drawers / side board or bedside tables but can be combined, forming attractive configurations for storing books etc. The subtle color-scheme and the vividly alternated forms express NENDO's typical serene atmosphere. To complement these cabinets, Nendo added also open bookcase cabinets.
There are 4 adjustable legs glued under the cabinet, as shown in the 3rd photo.
If you want to hang this cabinet horizontally or vertically, we can supply mounting slats. You must remove the legs (or leave them in place if out of sight).
There is also a cabinet in basalt gray available, which does not (yet) have legs, so it is suitable for wall mounting as well as placement on the ground.
