Product description

Aone T. POSTMA (born 1963) is a visual artist living in The Hague, originally from Friesland. Postma studied Graphic Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in the late 1980s. After a one-and-a-half-year stay in India for various fine art internships, he settled back in The Hague and opened his studio in Boekhorststraat. During the 1990s and the first decade of the twenty-first century, Postma had regular successful exhibitions of paintings in various Dutch galleries. In recent years he has not exhibited. Postma also teaches Visual Arts and Art History in secondary schools. His work is difficult to classify; it is mostly magical realistic in atmosphere with many allegorical references. His work expresses melancholy and poetry. Postma paints in a figurative style, yet his work, particularly through his use of color, is also highly expressive (Pyke Koch, Otto Dix, Oskar Kokoschka, El Greco).
Iist is restored vintage, veguld with Jugenstil motifs.
